3+0 DEGREE PROGRAMME, UNIVERSITY OF SUNDERLAND

Undergraduates will specialise in Public Relations, Journalism, or Broadcasting and Digital Media. The programme is fully accredited and assessed by the University of Sunderland, yet fully taught at IACT College, with graduates receiving their certification from the University of Sunderland.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enrol in this course, students are required to have a minimum of:

  • STPM – minimum of grade C in 2 subjects and an average CGPA of 2.0
  • A Level – minimum of grade E in 2 subjects
  • UEC – minimum of grade B in 5 subjects
  • Matriculation or Foundation – minimum CGPA of 2.0
  • SAM or CPU – 5 subjects with a minimum score of 50%
  • Diploma – minimum CGPA of 2.0
  • Other qualifications recognised by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and considered on a case-by-case basis
  • English requirement of: SPM 1119 (GCE-O) – C6/ IELTS – Band 6.0/ IEP – Level 4

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

This course is designed to integrate a deep understanding of the subject matter with the development of key skills and competencies needed, allowing students to adapt to a rapidly changing, dynamic and competitive global marketplace. Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Ability to generate innovative and creative ideas that solve mass communication issues using a wide range of technologies and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively in visual, oral and written forms using appropriate.
  • Ability to apply core concepts, principles, theories and models of mass communication.
  • Ability to utilise a wide range of essential transferable skills in the development of mass communication.
  • Ability to conduct academic research and evaluate information to support the planning and development of communication strategies.
  • Ability to follow, develop coherent arguments and see abreast with current affairs in the field of mass communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude, self-confidence and lifelong learning skills in the area of mass communication.
  • Ability to establish an understanding of social, professional and ethical issues related to various media communication disciplines.
